To me it's $400. To a car yard mate of mine explains it like this. Buy or 800 , sell for 1000 profit = 200. Re-buy for 1100 had to borrow the extra 100 , sell for 1300 minus the 100 borrowed = 1200. So profit = 100 for a total of 300. That's how you get around the taxman.
