Always does my head in a bit that the market isn't a zero sum game. Money can just evaporate into nothing. I mean, where does it go?!!

I think the Evertz did believe in the end product and were building towards a global video review platform that they believed would have immense value - the sort of thing that Apple or Alphabet swoops in and buys for a couple of squillion maybe. Had they pulled it off, without the financial hokery pokery, they may even have been right. But they got clever and tried to trick the system.

I think they're probably really bleak right now, because they only have themselves to blame. Thought really long and hard about this, and while I believed it was a Ponzi for a while I don't think that anymore. I believe they were caught out by their impatience, but that the business was always the end goal.
