Once the Newcastle plant is bedded down as a commercial pickle liquor operation it will make a big difference to interested steel parties.
I can understand why Multiserv would want more time. The reality is that the tail end of the plant has only run for several weeks post commissioning. The demo plant operation this year was focused on producing syn rutile from a number of ilmenite sources and allowing the market to evaluate the product. This was all done as expected, with TiO2 at a higher purity than predicted. From what I understand, JW has been run off his feet getting sample product away
Multiserv's interests are in the next bit. It's only a couple of months before the pickle liquor process is running continuously, at which time they will have full access to an upgraded plant at steady state conditions. Hopefully the steel industry is feeling less embattled by then.
