I certainly never anticipated the SP rocketing like this in the past year. We've luckily come across a bit of a "perfect storm" since NHC and TPG having shot up massively and BKW at an all time high. Unless the merger falls through with TPG or we get an unexpected drop in coal prices I can see both of those companies being able to hold onto their recent gains and the SOL SP continuing to be backed by the vastly increased portfolio value. Having said that the traditional discount is probably skinnier than ever if we use the $27.50 value given in the AFR but perhaps now that SOL is doing a little better with promoting itself to retail shareholders (And now being a member of the ASX 200 which was a great move) that discount won't go back to what it was in the past. Will be interesting to see where we go from here.
