I don't own BKI myself, however I have set up a small portfolio for my daughter - BKI and URB - which she can operate by herself.
I wanted her to invest some money in the stock market, but she has no interest at all in learning about it whatsoever.
My thought is that she will be able to continue buying these stocks without my involvement, particularly once I kick it......
She invests money semi-regularly buying the two stocks roughly in a ratio of 3:1
I may at some point encourage her to invest directly into a certain stock while I am still around, if her portfolio becomes a bit larger (it is not very big at the minute.
The idea being that stock market investing is much better than just saving in a bank account. They are both managed with the longer term in mind, and while a bit boring, and not likely to make really serious gains (will most likely rise in price slowly), be generally reliable in a stock market sorta way, and do not require constant monitoring.
