    Hi ocracoke,
    I can see the logic in not using an internal rate of return
    (IRR) in some businesses but if a company has many projects competing for limited capital, then obviously
    the project with the highest internal rate of return (IRR) ought to get priority.
    The choice of drilling projects is a typical example.
