TBH, I am more of a fan of the basic Kalamata EVOO.
It is more neutral. I tend to buy basic ingredients, which I can then flavour it in my own way.
I buy flour to make most of the pasta I eat, I buy dried chickpeas and make my own falafel. etc.
I don't buy vinaigrettes, instead I buy the ingredients and seek out recipes.
So, I'm not a fan of ingredients that are already "biased" one way or another as that therefore limits how I can use it.
I find the Hardy's Mammoth is good with my Egyptian Dukkah, but I find that often I am happy to just stick to the basic "neutral" EVOO.
Cobram Estates makes several varieties of EVOO, but I found that the only one I would buy is the "plain" variety.
Prior to discovering Gooramadda, I was a fan of Red Island (or Pink Island). Both are nice, but neutral, flavours.
You've got me curious about the "uglies". I'll order them next time too.M

My Cobram Estate EVOO is labelled Light Flavour. There are three drops on the bottle and it's the left one which is selected. I like it...understand your reasoning re your choices....
