Hey All.
I took receipt of some medical stores last week at work.
On the invoice was the unit price of a BD 1ml syringe (without needle) @ 13 cents under the current NSW Gov contract.
Add maybe 10 cents for the needle, makes a BD 1ml syringe, ready for use, at 23 cents.
No inbuilt safety features of course.
If the UNI 1ml was around 35 cents, as I recall someone mentioning some time ago, there is an obvious premium for the inbuilt safety features.
Is the cost conscious Healthcare market prepared to pay that premium?
I hope so, although the UniFill is now the main game.
Bring on 2011.
IMO.
