    The 1mL needle is a really low margin product - that's why Alan says it's not the main game.

    From what I hear BD has the Aussie hospital market tied up in long term contracts for a while - so no hope selling them here.

    This is why all of the resources are being poured into the Unifill product - they will make 30c or 40c margin on that product as the pre-filled needles wholesale from 70c - $1. UNS can easily charge a premium for their product.

    The 1mL needle was done just to prove that UNS can provide high volume production of their product - call it a test by Sanofi to make sure UNS can deliver on the Unifill.

    You'll note that the Sanofi industrialisation deal was only done after they'd started high volume production of the 1mL.
