Coal of Africa Limited, formerly GVM Metals Limited, is an Australia-based company engaged in manufacturing and distribution of nickel and magnesium alloys. The Company operates in three business segments: manufacturing, which includes mineral processing by SA Mineral Resources Corporation Limited and NiMag (Proprietary) Limited in South Africa, investing, which includes equity investments in Australia, Canada and United Kingdom, and coal exploration, which include coal projects in South Africa. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2007 (fiscal 2007), the Company acquired a 74% interest in Limpopo (Thuli) coal project; 50% of the Baobab coal project. In fiscal 2007, the Company completed a merger with Motjoli Resources (Pty) Ltd coal projects. The merger increased the Company’s interest in the Holfontein coal project from 49% to 100% and in the Baobab coal project from 50% to 100%.
