I have been busy for the day so have spent a considerable amount of time just now reading through every post. Well to be honest a did skim read some very quickly.
The jousting about how good the announcement is did bring a smile to my lips.
For me the interesting thing is the amount of information that we are being given by SG.
Okay, maybe he is just boosting things along a bit by providing the market with some bright spots.
Then again maybe he is "informing" the market if the market or shareholders are able to connect the dots or are willing to try.
Sure, I can agree in part with Woodford (despite the fact that he is a bit of an Eeyore about it)that until we have flow rates we cannot be certain about what future #8 holds for sure.
And I would agree that the high reading of gas units (3200) does not provide any surety. It does provide some hope but the chickens have not hatched yet.
As others have commented the fact that gas has come to the surface and there has also been a good quantity of oil coming up by itself.....these are positive signs.
But I also like the comment about how many feet of convential oil sand encountered (60'). Not too bad!
And then that there are 1,250' of rich oil shales. That should be interesting.
Oh and yes "Approximately 65% of the recoverable oil determined by our analysis is coming from the extremely
rich Upper Wolfcamp interval."
Like Woodford I will be awaiting the flow results but I will be waiting very impatiently because like Scottport I think we will find that the flow rates could exceed expectations and then some.
Just my opinion and do not go thinking that I have some crystal ball on this one but the information that we are getting is "intersting".
Don't bet the house on it yet.
