My guru, Dr Burton Malkiel convinced me in his book "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" that there is no way to predict future stock price movements from charts.

And anyway, trend lines are a matter of opinion. The trend line you draw on RIC will not be the same one as the trend line drawn by L. Sibericus.

The good Dr. shows that when you strictly define a trend and then test whether a stock tht shows an uptrend at present goes up tomorrow - it does not. It goes up about 50% of the time.

You owe it to yourself to read a few pages of the book in a bookshop even if you don't buy it.
