Hi Stringtickler,
Perhaps, other chartists and members in this forum will be able to help you with the comparative strength charts of VPG relative to other REITS as most trading software will contain charting indicators called relative strength indicator ( not the Relative strength index indicator )which will allow any stock to be compared to other stocks to study their relative strength....
My personal belief is that volume is best used as a measure of an outbreak at significant price patterns eg cup with a handle outbreak or a flag outbreak, trendlines outbreak etc rather than studying isolated volume jumps on normal days as that helps me to know whether an outbreak is successful. I use volume analysis as a tool to help me in trading eg OBV, rather than a purely analysis tool to produce nice charts or to attempt to understand every single bit of volume movement per se, because volume outbreaks can only be seen after they have occurred - and I'm concerned about their effects rather than their cause.
I am on record in my past posts for saying that for July, we need not micro-manage VPG and for not posting intraday charts as well because of that reason.
So just for those who missed the long term cycle sum chart which I posted on 20th June 2009 - more than a month ago to illustrate the long term cycles position, here is that chart again( I'll post an update at a suitable time which shows a minor change where the cycle trend extends into early september as well).
Also, just a gentle reminder for friends who are expecting the re-test of the big "W" and Brantely's "cup with a handle pattern", here is the chart I posted
Once again, I'm honoured that you are watching my charts and thank you for letting me know they have been somewhat useful.
May the best prices be yours,
dascore
