The grocer had a horse and cart , he'd always be keeping an eye out to make sure us kids didn't nick any fruit.
The rabbitoh , I think he had a ute.
The telegram delivery boy.
The copper in the kitchen for boiling clothes.
The blue bags for bee stings.
We had a big bakery near us , it had a yard where the horses and carts were kept . One kid used to bring a rope on the weekend and put it around the neck of a horse , he'd lead it to the three rail tin fence where we would climb on for a walk around the yard . I can remember three of us on a horse one day hanging on for dear life ( city boys ), it decided to go for a run and jump a few tussocks and only stopped when we all had fallen off. You had to keep an eye on the others , if you got caught on foot in the middle of the yard Donkey (they all had names ) would go ya .
