So Ipod, You had Hill 50 gold too! It's the first share I can remember buying. Colin Hall advised me to get it. I've given back a bit in the downturn, but things have been looking up for the last few months. What have I learned?
Don't be fully invested, cash can be handy.
Take profits on lightweight issues when they appear.
Don't put all your profits back into shares, diversify.
Real estate is harder to loose than shares. Land tax.
Be careful with derivitives.
Dividends are nice, and franked.
Sell calls to lift yield.
Attend presentations and AGM's:inspect leadership quality.
Dishonesty and stupidity exist in directors and investors.
Retirement is an unlikely prospect, eventually you find things you love to do.
