The value of that "...high accuracy commercial capture..." is very large compared to the low cost high volume niche that nearmap has quite successfully carved out for itself. It is interesting that none of the other players in the market have moved into nearmap's space. Presumably this is because those companies don't have technology that lends itself to large-scale rapid processing.
Given nearmap doesnt appear to have penetrated that "high accurate commercial capture" - on the basis that is they were they'd be singing about it but instead emphasise the personal/SME market - then maybe also the reverse is true that their technology is also not optimised for that market???
In the final analysis they have this new market to themselves with no apparent competition and its clearly working. I guess the interesting thing will be to see what size that market segment ultimately is and whether others with join them if it proves to be potentially valuable enough from their perspective. All good thus far though which is great.
