Finally managed to call Phenix health for the Third time and was by far the most seamless. They still have the bugs within the Phenix app but apparently the operator said they had been submitted and are being addressed.
Placed booking through the Phenix App and then has a check box asking if you are experiencing Fever, cough etc
Once you go to the payment page in the T&C’s you’ll see you agree to take a cough test (resapp)
my appointment was fully bulk billed apart from the $11 which is pretty good for not having to leave the house and wait for a hour late GP.
Once payment is placed the Dr is alerted and once he accepts the booking it appears in “Future Appointments”. Where a pre appointment test is required (resapp DX) you can click the tiny info button if you need information on how resapp works.
Once you click the resapp DX logo you are taken straight to the resapp screen asking for date of birth followed by symptoms before conducting the 5 cough test. I though this would be difficult doing 5 forced cough but luckily had a coughing fit after forcing the first one and could see the screen going 1 2 3 4 5 coughs now completed.
the orange pre appointment test pending button turns to a green approved and then you just wait for the call from the GP.
Turns out I have lower respiratory tract infection and the GP said this doesn’t distinguish if its viral or bacterial but based on my symptoms or lack there of other than a cough for 2 weeks that hasn’t subsided it was most likely viral. Because it is bulk billed said if it hasn’t cleared or shows sign of clearing in 3-4 days to call up ajd will write a script for antibiotics. All in all after a few attempts I can see the value in Resapp especially given I knew Phenix do the test and also say you have to do it if you have symptoms. Once Phenix fix their bugs and in time make it a little more user friendly it will be a pretty good service. Just hoping that they can on board other telehealth providers and will also make it mandatory for resapp DX test if experiencing symptoms.
Hope this provides a little more insight as to what it’s like.
