@tbirdsrgo; your suggestion to get some air-conditioning sounds simple and for wealthy countries like Australia it's feasible, albeit it often demands a lot of additional energy - as with reverse cycle air conditioners.
Sadly for most of the world's people, they can't keep up with the pace of change and many countries start from a very long way behind scratch.
Please note that in the chart below the black squiggly line below may even indicate that we've already triggered runaway global warming as depicted in the dark red line / shading - a situation which has significantly worsened since the chart was produced in 2017.
