    @tbirdsrgo; your unsourced chart does NOT cover modern times and though climate is indeed about the sum total of all weather that might be expected over a long period of time [eg. since 1850 when record keeping began in earnest].

    Just like we'd have struggled during the ice age of 20,000 years ago we're now headed to an unprecedented period of global warming whose elevated averages don't include the extremes.

    India is living through daytime maximum temperatures in some locations in excess of 50'C - many life forms cannot survive above 46'C. The UN recently advised that 19,000 people died from heat-related stresses in 2023 - I'm unaware of the count for other life forms.

    We ignore such events at our peril!
