The Big 4 are safer than leaving it under your matress.

Maybe so but in the late 1980's Westpac (or whatever it was called at the time -Bank of NSW) was on the way down except Packer bailed them out at around $1.40 a share - he sold out for a big profit a few years later. Bad property loans from memory - fancy that!!
