If you convert your options, the options that you had will turn into shares. So you don't make any profit out of converting shares, you are literally just paying the agreed price (strike price) to convert your options to shares

You can sell your options on market and buy shares with the proceeds but it wouldn't make much sense to do that due to capital gains - You wouldn't get as many shares as you had options in this case

Something that might make sense - if the options are in the money (share price > strike price) is if you needed capital to convert, is sell a portion of the shares to get enough money to convert the rest

Hope that helps a bit - it's worth understanding how they work before delving into them. You mainly need to be aware they they are much more risky than buying heads so you need to have a plan for them

So the money you have used to buy the options goes to the company when you convert? Then you have to pay the strike price for the shares?
