I've been doing some more research on the Adelong area and found some Facebook groups covering the area. (Search under Adelong in the Facebook search field)
I'm quite surprised at the amount of gold the amateur prospectors are finding at Adelong. I used to gold prospect with my father when I was a kid, we would find small specs of gold but nothing like what they are finding and posting online.
Many old stories about gold still in the ground, could be just stories and not true but I do recommend checking out the groups on Facebook if interested.
