I'm exactly the same Thunder, one of the reasons I also like to rely entirely on credit cards is due to counterparty risks, ie; risk of fraud is inherently on the cardholder for debit cards in general, with a credit card it is soooooo easy to just have a transaction cancelled resulting in funding being returned almost immediately.
The same situation with a debit card generally takes much longer and sometimes can't be sorted at all as the onus of proof is on the cardholder.
    Think of it like this:

Question: When a credit card gets scammed who's money was it?
Answer: The Banks! Do you think they are motivated to get it back?

Question: When a debit card gets scammed who's money was it?
Answer: the cardholders! Do you think the bank has the same motivation to get it back?

I've heard of people being told basically "stiff s**t, lodge a police report and if they track down the money we'll put it back in your account"

The reward points are just a complete bonus I take purely as fuel vouchers, I don't even carry a debit card any more.
