    respect......?.......for a person who gets given a badge and a gun after a few weeks of training......?

    respect is earned.....a few weeks of training is not going to earn you much

    the solution is to train police for far, far longer periods......and weed out the undesirables

    ......and also stop police unions from protecting bad cops
