I repeat, I have been to the USA a number of times and never ever been shot at, or seen a single shooting, even at night.
Whilst deciding where to go for a meal in SF, we met a US sailor who had served in Australia (Tassie I think)who then invited us to share a meal with him and his family. We had a very pleasant evening.
Maybe you visited those shady parts of the US which are not familiar to me. Every city in the world has them. If, as you declare, you had many weapons drawn against you must have said something to provoke the other person.
On my visits to the USA I never ever had a weapon drawn against me. Not even once. I repeat what I wrote previously:
'I have been to the USA a number of times, and neve been shot at or seen a shoot out, not even once.
Maybe, when I have visited the USA I have not visited the same places that you have.
