I am sure the wealthy, and the schemers, who will do anything to get the pension, and have been doing so for years
rearranging their affairs to get the free money
I had never considered anything like this before...and was so proud that I would not seek goverment funding for my retirement...
I have worked hard to be self succifient....
but when I hear daily reports of more an more illegals coming in, getting preferential assistance, above and beyond what our own pensioners receive...then I think I will change my mind...
hence the post, and thoughts last evening
I hear we had another 600 arrive just this week
yours is a good idea, with growing your own food etc, fishing and the like...
I was thinking of buying a few acres, turn it into a wildlife sanctuary for birds, wombats etc...go back to nature, but not too far away from good shopping
I also considered rescuing the animals...these days it would be the smaller animals...the dog rescue is clashing with my little princess
the RBA and govnut reckons older australians, pensioners are hiding their cash...which I think is very dangerous...
I knew a bloke many years ago...his dad hid the cash, under the hayshed, then got dementia and could not remember where it was...they found it after the hayshed burnt down...when they found the tin it was stored in...with just ash left inside
there is the question of gifting to consider...
but I doubt they could do much if you put it into a larger house...I like the idea of the offset account, matched to a loan account...so if you did need emergency funds...but also keeping enough spare cash, so that the income it generates still allows a decent size pension
houses above the million dollar mark have dropped in some places...so it could be a double up in getting a bargain to boot..
I am single so it is only around $18,000 per annum of easy money, free money...
good points about the solar stuff
cheers
