Thanks Raks. I think I have worked out what Westpac has done. The 4500 shares @ 0.85c were bought thru a share purchase plan. So they have added the 4500 to my portfolio ( i guess because of the CHESS no.) but have not included the cost of them, I guess because I never actually purchsed them through my account?
Someone else showed me how to calculate the average cost using like a weighted average, and there's significant difference when doing this clc to a normal average. Which one is the one tht will be used when i sell my stocks? The average or the 'weighted' average?
