Another thing worth doing is a simple Defrag as your FAT Table or File Allocation Table...the Hard drives content pages could be out of whack. A defgrag (START ==> PROGRAMS ==> ACCESORIES ==> SYSTEM TOOLS ==> DISK DEFRAGMENTATION...defrag C drive) will push all your data up to the front of the drive and keep the back end clear then update the hard drives content page or FAT Table.

Then re-boot after the defrag.

Try Shift Delete on the folder again.

If it still hangs, you can email and I can connect to you machine and quickly bust the folder.
