But what relevance does waste of food have? None. It's pointless to even mention it. You can't pick it up and send it to some starving African. And if you did the energy required to transport it would be 100 times the energy contained in the food in the first place. There will always be left over food. Restaurants and grocery shops will never be able to order in the exact amount needed. Do you waste food? You do, as does everyone.

I reckon it's funny now with the US drought how now it's all caused by climate change. The US has had such a long run of great seasons, a bad one was surely long overdue. This is a good wakeup call to the world. Perfect seasons don't always happen in the US, the exporter of most of the worlds grain crop.
