Malcolm Brown could of took it from somewhere else.

Google trends is very easy to use and quite fun. You can do comparisons of people doing searches for Sezzle vs Affirm and much more. It's worth having a play around.

Regarding the 0 to 100 scale, as I understand it's the percentage increase against the average period chosen for that search term, so similar to that graph you posted.

    According to Chat GPT,

The numbers on the graph do not represent absolute search volume against the chosen period, but instead show relative popularity against a chosen period.100 = peak popularity of the term (its highest point during the selected time period).50 = the term was half as popular as its peak.0 = not enough data for that time/place (not necessarily zero searches).

Example: If the term "tax return" hits 100 in July over a 12 month period, that's when it was most searched. A value of 25 in January means it was only 25% as popular as in July.

Example Search Term: "Air Conditioner" in Australia. Let’s say you look up the term "air conditioner" in Google Trends for the past 12 months in Australia.

What the Graph Might Look Like December–February - the line is high, with peaks hitting 100.March–September - the line drops steadily, maybe down to 10–20.October–November - it starts rising again.

What the Numbers Mean:The number 100 might appear in January — this is the highest level of interest during the year. It doesn’t mean 100 people searched for it — it just means it was the peak.A value of 20 in June means the interest was 20% of what it was in January. If you see a 0, it doesn’t mean no one searched — it just means the volume was too low to register reliably in the data set.
