The consequence is actually mixed. If SYR is merely 'dumping' product to drive down price, then this is actually not too bad - SYR is showing its market power and ability to shut down other producers. Maybe this is a legitimate strategy, i.e. consider China's impact on RE prices not too long ago. I'm happy with short term pain if long term SYR will have market dominance.
It is more concerning if SYR does not have a choice about the price it is getting - the suggestion that SYR product is poor quality is something that management needs to address. Given SYR is selling a lot of volume, I'm not sure what to believe..
