Go West, come from the West if Palaszczuk will let you leave the state. You've got some beautiful towns, Dalby, Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, etc.
When coming from the far South Coast I used to leave before 2am so I was going through Sydney before 6am and once you got past those coming to the centre of the city it was okay. I was usually drinking a coffee at Port Mac by 9.30am, 700 odd clicks out the way. Vans and heavy traffic is a nightmare, especially when you try to leave a modest space between you and the car in front. Always somebody keeping your nerves system on max alert.
