Yeah it seems to be that way. I am reducing my CBA shares but it's hard to manage the CGT liability for assets that were purchased many generations ago. I realise I am in a very fortunate position and I am not complaning but right now I am trying to work out if I step up the selling post June 30th or whether I can use options to help protect the downside risk from here whilst selling and managing the tax issue. That way if CBA continues to defy gravity, great, I pay a small amount in my options which are worthless. If CBA drops then I get some return in compensation of waiting and trying to sell things over multiple financial years.
