my 2cents. I think this has been expressed by others but in my view this action clearly means that Nearmap are hurting EagleView and they want to use the courts to slow them down and hurt them in the market place. Who wouldn't?

On the question of weather the legal action will be successful, my gut tells me it won't based on the fact that Nearmap bought Pushpin so they could basically achieve the same result as the EagleView proprietary tech without infringing on their tech. The purchase of pushpin completely makes sense in this context.

It's hard to imagine that Nearmap didn't do there due diligence in the Pushpin purchase especially as the roots of Nearmap stem from being patent trolls themselves. I mean why do it in the first place if they weren't aware of the issues surrounding this technology.
