To a degree I agree with you but price is as important as valuation because that is dictates how much $$ goes into your account when you sell. If your valuation was the only criteria then you would have sold into the recent rally because price overtook your valuation.
Don't forget that just as share prices can fall well below fair value during troubled times they can far exceed any reasonable measure during a boom. Remember during the dot com boom analysts were making up new and flawed ways to value a company like Price to Revenue ratio. Haha! Crazy.
