There is an excellent Australian book called "The Mining Valuation Handbook" by Dr. Vicotr Rudenno, a leading industry academic. While it is applicable to the resources industry in general there are some excellent chapters and sections on oil. Topics include: feasiability studies; commodity values and forecasting; resources classificantion; indiciative capital and operating costs; valuation and pricing techniques. I use it regularly as a reference guide, and I would not be at all surprised to see copies in mining boardrooms. I helps to keep you focussed on the value proposition.
