my scottish business partner got a good job in malaysia, a few years ago. while waiting to start, twice police asked him for money. he took it as an omen not to take the job.
one of my best friends went to malaysia to implement sap last year. she fell sick and was hospitalised. when they found she wasn't muslim, they left her to it!
it is not all bad, but things can be quite different in asia.
