With a new CEO who will strongly restructure this company there could be light at the end of the tunnel but a lot of pain will be felt within the organization...As the below extract from the Sydney Morning Herald states Mr O'Brien I believe was way out of his depth managing the difficulties this company was facing.

Mr Randolph said Mr O'Brien's departure "does not signal a significant change in the company's priorities".
Despite overseeing a $US1.1 billion reduction in spending since 2012, Mr O'Brien said he believed the board would seek a new CEO who would drive cost reductions "faster than we have in the past"."Is it all done? No, there are always things to do, always some regrets in life: you wish you had done things a little faster or a little bit differently," he said. "I leave with my head held high and I think everyone that has worked for me should feel the same way knowing there is more work to do."
