Biotechs and Pharmas are about getting FDA approval for unmet medical needs. So commercializing applications to blockbuster status is the mandate.
The science not only needs to work but must have a significant improvement on the current standard in treating various medical diseases.
Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials are costly and time consuming and if you are fortunate enough to run a successful program to commercialisation ( you need strong results) then you need margin which is where the "off the shelf" allogeneic application is the game changer. Whilst MSB have stated recently that advances are being made in 3-D manufacturing processes and serum -free media ( will improve yields in large commercial grades), I am encouraged by ongoing manufacturing developments,
