I'd say Ron Lauder is very well connected
He and Trump have been friends since their college days together. This photo was taken in December 2016 at Trump's Mar-a-Lago.
I have a feeling EMC's EPA approval in the states may have been expedited because Lauder has the ear of the world's most powerful man. When the whole of the Jewish community were attacking Trump for his omission of the word Jew in relation to his statements about the Holocaust, Lauder was the only Jew to publicly defend Trump.
As much as Trump is a divisive figure, He's a good friend to have when expanding a business!
