I think PTD was the perfect stock to ramp.

1. Difficult to understand on fundamental grounds (price swings show that) meaning future claims of great wealth are harder to refute

2. Great potential (in theory) so lots of blue sky to encourage people in

3. Small market capitalisation (bigger price movements)

4. Was in a sexy sector at the time

5. Not much company news

6 Price was starting to rise

All these factors made the stock a perfect target for a group of rampers. The bio techs and dot coms are not so different, they both tend to promise much , are hard to understand and are small capitalisation. High on potential short on earnings
