I'm sure there might even be a group of people who are on their knees praying for such a situaton as we discuss this.

They are called "buyers" and if we are right in our thinking there are (hopefully) a few MAJOR corporates in this group who want to buy the lot!

We are part of the market and a market heading south will impact on the psyche of more than a handful of shareholders and they might panic and want to sell.

Share prices are governed by the laws of supply and demand...their underlying VALUE is not.

If you are comfortable with the underlying value, why would you sell.

ESG is travelling along quite nicely and the business performance is enhancing the value....the lower price might just create the opportunity.

If you were a MAJOR company looking to acquire for the long term...when would you strike?

When the market is up and the shareholders are confident and brazen...or...when the market is down as is their confidence...even fear has begun to emerge.

Sun Tsu...the Chinese warlord gave the answer 2,500 years ago.

Attack the enemy at their point of weakness and when they least expect it...and attack with overwhelming force.

On the other hand, if Sun Tsu was a shareholder supremely confident in the underlying value of his holding..he would use the opportunity to buy more shares.
