cheers mir911. The $800m expansion planned for Maputo over next 5 years makes it the most likely candidate as a railway already exists unlike W.Bay. Perhaps maputo can handle 1-2million tons whilst the expansion is being constructed. If so it would make AFR a better bet in short-medium term. Undoubtedly, India want a east coast port. Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and SA itself are all short of power and are a ready made mkt. However, as CCC posters afirm, the margins on local coal are a fraction of those exported to Europe. CCC currently receiving FoB an incredible $112/ton!!
