Cairn had this day for them organised for months.
As squire said FAR's champers day in tandem is only to settle everyone's nerve and project good progress for the eventual next CAP raise which might come sooner than everyone thinks.

Only one appraisal well done and dusted with results already out there for all to see.
What more can Cairn add that has not been fully disclosed?
They cant sit on surprises till their update day surely.

Cairn also has other projects besides Senegal to update the market on I presume as well.
Another 2 appraisals to go remember.
So imagine if Cairn come out with a report that fulfilled all holders hopes then the next 2 wells were inconclusive.

Any responsible company will not do that until all appraisals are drilled and analysed you would think.

All Cairn will say IMO is what has already been relayed to market.
Trouble is though no matter how good, the oil market ATM is in the doldrums and could be for a very long time.
Senegal might be a big find but in the price environment of todays times its worthless.

Some how in these tough times if they persist for an extended period FAR, and any oiler for that matter, will need to raise money again which is not very palatable at these depressed prices but that is the end game the Saudis are playing sadly.

Yes, everyone says oil will recover and everything will be sweet but the question is when.

So regardless of the champagne and canapés on offer at the party the internal mood I feel will be sombre.
