Flight Centre CEO says 'hibernation' doesn't work for international businessesFlight Centre chief executive Graham Turner says he's "almost certain" his company will use the government's JobKeeper wage subsidy to pay the 3,800 Australian employees who were stood down last week.But Mr Turner pointed out that for Australian businesses which operate overseas, such as Flight Centre, the government's $130 billion wage subsidy is not a quick fix.Mr Turner said 45 per cent of Flight Centre's operations and staff were overseas."Hibernation is a catchy word but when you've got a large business with 22,000 people in 23 countries, it's a lot more complex than that and going to sleep and waking up in the springtime is just not feasible," Mr Turner said on ABC's Radio National this morning.He said 700 staff members who had been working in Flight Centre's head office have already begun working for Centrelink and said he planned for "a couple thousand" more employees to work at other government call centres.

Doesn't look positive but hopefully the measures put in place can allow the business to weather the storm!
