Reading between the lines what I heard was:
"I haven't had time to get across the details but we're not committing at this stage to just hibernate our Aust operations because we need to use this opportunity to restructure the business".
I get that the Gov lifeline is a great help, but Turner would understandably be reluctant to guarantee everyones position in Australia and then not be able to right size the workforce in the meantime. Realistically Covid-19 is going to dramatically and permanently alter business and leisure travel patterns. I would imagine that Turner is acutely aware of this and is trying to make sure that FLT emerges from this, positioned for long term success.
