Thanks pandakev.
So, total Aus/NZ staff = 9856.
@zebster
Let's use some round numbers for some back-of-the-envelope estimates....
A potential scenario:
9000 staff
Ramp down:
4000 staff stood down now, assume average 2 weeks annual leave balance and leave taken first;
Net benefit of govt package = $6m
3000 more stood down in 1 month; again assume 2 weeks AL then taken;
Net benefit of govt package = $13.5m
2000 more stood down in 2 months:
Net benefit of govt package = $15m
Skeleton HO staff remaining.
In this scenario, the total net $ benefit to the business from the govt package = circa $34m
(potentially add $12m for the first 4000 ppl if say 4 weeks notice is required? = $46m total)
Not "largely neutral" imo.....
Another scenario:
9000 staff
Everyone gets 4 weeks notice NOW and then takes AL, assuming 2 weeks average AL accrued:
Net benefit of govt package = $40.5m
Again, not largely neutral by any means....
Happy to hear other scenarios and various assumptions - These ones are by no means a forecast, just a basic framework to examine potential outcomes.
