OK, maybe I'm just not getting it, but in buying shares the cost is only your upfront payment.
If I buy a house the repayments are an ongoing cost until the loan is paid in full. You can't argue that the only expense was the deposit.
Maybe I'm not getting the argument. I'll go have a coffee.
