Firstly, the world is not about to blow up. Secondly, if it does then nothing matters anyway.
There will always be ups and downs. What goes up will eventually come down, always has, always will.
The current situation is a recovery one from giant excesses by the financial system that upset financial balance. It did not upset the population numbers and the trend for some of the poorer people to improve their life and get involved in consumerism, nowhere more so than in India and China. Those vast numbers of people are not about to give up the gains made in recent years and will continue to be the driving force behind business. Producers and suppliers of goods and services could dominate over the financiers. It may be that sections of the business world may not hold up but in general I look forward to a very prosperous few years ahead.
This GFC has been the best thing that has happened financially for me so I find it hard to worry about it lasting. We'll hold up OK in general. These times are a walk in the park compared to my early years.
