Hi Tarvold, Your tax free threshold idea has one flaw. Courtesy of discretionary trusts and company structures, my non working spouse, and my over 18 student children, and even my aged mother in law, were able to avail themselves of the present tax free threshold at various times, with money which otherwise would have been subject to tax at my marginal rate. No cheating involved by the way, they actually got the money.
